You may have started to notice that TV shows are dropping like flies this week, going off the air for months of hiatus-ing. But let's take the glass half full approach, and start looking forward to when a few of our favoritest shows are returning to us.

24 – January 14 

Battlestar Galactica – new episode this Friday and next, and then off until January 21

Heroes – January 22

Veronica Mars – January 23

Lost – February 17 (oops, it's actually the 7th — my bad)

The rest will be doing the typical on one week, off the next approach. It messes with my finely tuned sense of order, but at least the TiFaux gets to do its job and remember these things for me.

In more cheerful news, it looks like both House and The Office have Christmas episodes planned. Should be delightful.

• Just to mess with you, ABC will begin airing Lost at 10 on Wednesdays when the show returns in February (it's a defensive American Idol move).   Furthermore, Battlestar Galactica will be moving to Sundays at 10 when it returns in January.
• There was a military coup in Fiji when a military commander dismissed the country's elected prime minister in an effort to ease relations between Fiji's inigenous people and the Indian minority.  Luckily, none of this has had much of an impact on the production of Survivor, which is heading into its final days of filming in the country.  Equal rights, shmequal rights.  There are obstacle courses to be run!
• The Producer's Guild of America announced its award nominees. 
• The LA Times writes up Jennifer Carpenter of Dexter. Plus, for those of you who don't watch the show, here's a New Yorker article giving a fair assessment of the show.
• This should make us excited, right?  Instead, I just feel uncomfortable.  Masi Oka (Hiro on Heroes) will play himself on an episode of Studio 60.  He'll be hosting the show-within-a-show. 
• The Sopranos will go into syndication on basic cable (A&E) in January.
