The Funk: Silversun Pickups
Oh, the nineties. The OJ Simpson trial, the Rachel haircut and flannel shirts.
Silversun Pickups remember the decade well. In fact, they've been widely likened to a Siamese Dream-era Smashing Pumpkins (an album that places me square in the middle of my World Civilizations class), before Billy Corgan decided he was some sort of born-again neo-poet and began boring everyone to death with his solo albums. The band even has a singer with a high nasal voice, an Asian and a hot chick bass player. However, the Pickups are more concerned with bringing the rock than being the David Carradine of contemporary music.
Here's the video for the song "Well Thought Out Twinkles." Ignore the title and enjoy the pretty high-contrast black and white footage.
UPDATE: Coincidentally, the band is actually going to be on Letterman tonight.
