A Quick Fix of ‘Runway’

Posted by Dan February 22nd, 2006 at 04:59pm In Project Runway

Things have been a bit sleepy around the Faux today, so before I sprint out the door at 5:00 (these chumps don’t pay me for 5:01) I thought I’d supply you with this link to part one of this interview with Tim Gunn.  Here’s a teaser:

“I’ll use Daniel Franco as an example. Lord, this past week I have found out I’ve developed an allergy to the guy. There was no way he was going to stay the course of season two. Absolutely no way. He doesn’t understand a deadline. He is incredibly annoying to be around. He’s the one person who never, ever forgot there was a camera around.”

What was up with Lupe? I think they were trying to pass her off as drunk, but I’m thinking heavy drugs. Girl made NO sense.

Also, seeing all the happy singing moments kind of make me like Santino. He’s probably an okay guy.

i think my favorite moment of the reunion show last night was that really awkward scene where tim and heidi were sort of joking with daniel franco about seeing him on season 3. then the camera was on daniel, and there was this horrible awkward pause, and then he says with all sincerity, “i love you heidi.” and flash to heidi looking TOTALLY UNCOMFORTABLE AND NOT RESPONDING. i’m sure it was just clever editing, but man oh man, was it funny.

dan, i’m addicted to this site now!

Lupe was way more than drunk. I wish I were more well-versed in drug culture so I could tell what exactly she did in her dressing room before prancing on stage.

The Daniel F. moment was unbearable. I nearly choked on my own vomit. But it was also very obviously spliced to make it look more psychotic than it was.

Zulema, with that whole Shatangy business, was out of control. It’s totally Sybil-like dissociative behavior (break out the ole DSM-IVs, psych majors). Probably stemming from her painful clothes-sewing childhood. In any case, Zulema gives a bad name to the whole sassy black woman reality show archetype. She’s just nasty instead of being plainspoken (“I don’t believe in fairness — I will give you a hanger, Marla” — double you tea eff?)

Has anyone ever noticed how CREEPY Daniel V. looks in the opening credits? Kind of a like a grandma with a bad case of rheumatoid arthritis…yet oddly flexible. Hmm.
